Head Housekeeper
A wonderful opportunity has arisen to join the team at Hedingham Castle as our Head Housekeeper.
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and meticulous individual with a genuine appreciation for historic buildings and a passion for maintaining their beauty and character. This is a rewarding role at the heart of a welcoming and supportive team and community.
As Head Housekeeper, you will take pride in the care and presentation of the Georgian House. As well as hands-on cleaning, you will also oversee the day-to-day management of the housekeeping team and holiday accommodation. Responsibilities include supervising staff, organising rotas, managing cleaning supplies and ensuring the smooth running of our accommodation.
This is a part-time position offering approximately 16 hours per week, to be discussed. Salary dependant on experience.

Historian Volunteers
Do you love history? Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge with others? Do you enjoy educating school children about their local history?
We are looking for Historian Volunteers to join our team! Our Historian Volunteers are essential for sharing our rich history with visitors and school groups. We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly individuals to be involved in education workshops for our school visits and history tours on general open days and on some event days.
What we’re looking for:
Individuals with a passion for history
Confident talking to groups, both adults and children
Able to climb stairs - due to the nature of the building, there are a lot of stairs inside the castle, as well as some mild hills involved when giving tours
Knowledge about Hedingham Castle’s history is not essential, as training will be provided.
