Hedingham Castle is a luxury wedding venue in the heart of the Essex countryside. The entire venue is yours and only yours for your time with us, including the Castle, grounds, Georgian House, Ballroom Marquee and accommodation. This allows the team to devote their full attention to your day, to truly grant you the wedding of your dreams.

Your Wedding Ceremony

The magnificent Banqueting Hall of the Castle makes the most romantic and atmospheric setting for your wedding ceremony. Candlelit and breathtaking, say your vows under the grand double height stone arch, one of the widest and best kept of its kind in Western Europe. Because a magnificent marriage begins in a magnificent setting.  

Alternatively if you prefer, at the picturesque Medieval Church of  St. Nicholas at the bottom of the drive.

Outdoor Ceremonies

Another option for your ceremony is to hold it outside within our stunning grounds. Choose from a beautiful garden setting on the lawns of the Georgian House with views over the lake, or on the bailey in front of the Castle with hilltop views over the surrounding countryside.

Once you are married, enjoy confetti on the Tudor Bridge, followed by an elegant drinks reception. Depending on your guest numbers, you can choose to have your drinks reception in the grand Georgian House and lawns, followed by dinner and dancing in the Ballroom Marquee; or for more intimate weddings, continue like royalty within the majestic walls of the Castle…

A GRAND GEORGIAN RECEPTION

For up to 150 guests, with an additional 50 for the evening.

Enjoy cocktails in the splendour of the Hall and gardens of the grand Georgian House over looking the lake. Then dine and dance in the elegant Ballroom Marquee. Guests can spill out onto the pretty Tulip Lawn on warm summer evenings. A truly unforgettable day.

Castle Wedding Receptions are perfect for couples with a smaller guest list. After your ceremony, enjoy reception drinks on the Castle Terrace with far reaching views over the historic bailey and beyond, then dine like royalty in the graceful and intimate Tapestry Room. As the evening begins, continue the celebrations on the Garrison floor which is transformed into a unique Norman nightclub and bar.
